Notes on Bookmarks Management

Purpose

Keeping bookmarks just because something funny or useful, have once made little sense for me since my extensive use of Google. As the most funny thing or useful material will float out with a few keywords in Google.

Yet, bookmarks still have their value, IMO. For example, for solely personal collection, AND as a part of organizing my study / research / learning process.

And long before the appearance of del.icio.us, I have try to figure out a solution for my own use. Fortunately I haven't spent much time on that project, as del.icio.us (and as successor) is well developed.

I've trying to figure out how to use these tools to fit my own needs (organizing my study).

The following are key pionts to solve at the first glance:

• Backup / Export (in case, the service went down suddenly)

• Integration (example: a plugin in MoinMoin to fetch and show inline)

• Management (tools let me conveniently re-organizing tags among bookmarks)
